Pins of lethargy pricked into his legs; joints ached with every step; shoulders sagged under the weight of the air. His hunched posture and dragging feet made it obvious that Garret did not want to be on Juniper Avenue. Although this wasn’t entirely true—he had no qualms with the street, sure it was a nice street and all, just walking down it was not quite catering to his interests at the moment.
A familiar plastic bag hung in his grasp. It was unsurprisingly full to the brim of individually wrapped subs from the Deli. After all, a trip out of Onevan was not complete unless you came back with some of Whitcomb’s delicious ham-and-cheese, right?
His calves were cramped up, knees refused to work properly, and shoulders sore from a night of falling asleep on a couch packed with friends. These friends, being the lovely and considerate people they were, had designated Garret as lunch pick-up boy for the afternoon. And Gar thought he was lazy. With difficult steps, he trudged on, blue eyes stinging from a lack of sleep and exposure to the blinding sun. Each footstep became shorter and shorter until the dreadlocked boy was left standing dormant in the middle of the sidewalk and staring down at his aching feet. Fingers fiddled with the sleeve of his hooded sweatshirt before deciding—screw it—those subs would get cold before he’d make it back to the Academy, anyway.
The bag dropped to the pavement. Garret followed.
Crossing his legs pretzel-style, the blonde pulled a sub out of the small pile that had spilled out onto the sidewalk and unwrapped it. Sub, meet Garret’s stomach. Stomach, meet your new best friend.

After a confrentation with an oh so irritating ex boyfriend Bou was feeling rather depressed that he could not get him back. This upset Bou, he was used to getting most anything he wanted especially when it came to relationships. Though his ex wasn't exactly like the other's he'd made his own. Either way, Bou decided to binge for the day. Though lazily he'd purchased all that food and still had yet to eat it.
Walking along the pavement Bou let out a heavy breath. The soft 'chh chh chh' sound of his bag swaying with his movements echoed though soon becoming silent as Bou grew annoyed of hearing it. He glanced around with those dark eyes compeltely unaware of exactly where he was, but he'd been there once or twice in the last day or so for his usual candy fix. It wasn't until he tripped that he realized someone was sitting there on the pavement infront of him. Bou fell over half ontop of the parked legs. And half to the pavement. his cheek scraping the ground a little but not enough to really damaage his face "owwww!" he shouted out in a whiney sort of way. The blonde strands of his hair half covering his face trying to sit up.
"So..so sorry!" he shouted out in a high pitched yelp his cheeks a little red in embarassment as he tried to gather the bits of candy and the sandwhich that was stuck in the bag but now was on the pavement around them.
Whitcomb’s subs never simulated the feeling of a knee jutting into his back before. Nor did they normally produce a boy falling from the sky.
It took a few blinks for Garret to realize that he’d been playing the role of a road bock and was now paying the consequences. The lack of sleep, it does shit for your reaction time. He sat in the same spot on the cement, only slightly more disheveled and crouched over than previous, clutching the sandwich he’d been eating in a pair of clamped fists.
“Holy—“ but Garret stopped, as the moment of shock had already passed, and he’d missed it. We were already into the apologizing stage; he was a whole step behind. The boy on the ground had concern intertwined in his features, although there was no attempt to get up. “Aw shoot, man, I’m sorry. You didn’t crack your face open, did you?” Garret asked, although the other hadn’t fallen too hard. Looked to be more of a case of mild embarrassment and confusion than anything.
He seemed calm for having just been tripped over. Squinting an eye at the dulling pain in his back, Garret watched Bou begin picking up the candy that he’d dropped. “Maybe I shouldn’t be sitting in the middle of a sidewalk, but I figured a six-foot kid on the ground would be obvi—how much candy did you buy?” As if just realizing the array of sweets scattered in front of him, the blonde finally let go of his sub and pushed a few candies that’d fell by his foot over to where Bou was collecting.

Bou let out a soft whimper of sound as he gripped his stomach, man that guys knees hurt, sitting up the best he could pushing. Letting out a heavy breath he made a soft , embarassed sound. "Im really sorry! " he stated as he rubbed the back of his head laughing rather nervously. Though he got over that a little quickly. "Oh! No don't be sorry i'm the one that wasn't paying attention." he stated with a sweet, friendly smile. Though he laughed a bit hyperly as Garret asked if he'd cracked his face open. "no no i'm alright!" he stated as his hand raised to touch the small bleeding scrape on his cheek. He winced faintly then "oh crap i hope it doesn't scar!" he whined as he searched his bag for a napkin holding it against his cheek after he found it.
Bou was surprised the other man was so calm, most people would have yelled at him for being stupid by now. He laughed a little as he started collecting the candies again putting them in the bag. Then blushing a little again as Garret pushed the candy over to him and spoke to him "Oh no no, you're right really. I should have seen you but I was a bit distracted and my mind wasn't on focusing the way i was walking i'm really sor-- oh! um.. Hee. Alot?" he stated laughing and rubbing the back of his head with his one hand after finishing his gathering of the candy. "I like candy!" he stated with a sweet smile. It was a wonder his metabolism still kept up with the sugar he consumed in a day. "I'm sorry if i ruined your lunch!" he shouted cheerfully despite being embarassed for being such a clutz.

“Okay, okay, I get it,” Garret said with a laugh after Bou’s fourth apology. His peppy manner was slowly wearing Gar’s grogginess away. It was hard to stay sleepy after someone tripped over you, but it was even harder when that someone was a laughing ball of smiles. He grinned, looking at the other. “We’re both stupid. End of the sorries.”
Bou’s scrape didn’t look deep, and Garret silently thanked the sidewalk for being so nice to the kid’s face. A scar wouldn’t make him feeling better for being a roadblock. The sitting blonde pulled the zipper of his hoodie up to his collar bone as a light wind blew through. He took a hair tie out of his pocket and pulled his dreads behind his ears and shook his head. “My lunch was already ruined before you got here. You just made it louder,” he commented airily, resuming the process of devouring his ham-and-cheese.
“Hey. I’ll trade you for some of those.” Garret tapped his foot against a sub that had fallen onto the pavement (any other movement would’ve reminded him of his cramped legs) and then nodded towards Bou’s candy.

Bou gave a hyper laugh then nodded "Okay! but i really am! " he stated then watching the other male for a moment. He'd seemed tired before but now he seemed more alert. Bou felt of some use at least. He gave another laugh "Okay, I can agree with that" He stated holding two fingers up in a 'peace' sign sort of way.
Bou grabbed a pixie stick as he watched Garret pull his hair back. The other male was interesting to say the least, not that he minded. Bou was pretty weird himself. Bou laughed softly "Oh!! Well, I guess if you mind the noise then I shouldn't be here because i'm always this way!" he stated in a 'perky' sort of way as he tore open the pixie stick.
Bou gave a bright smile then picked up some candies from his bag holding them out to Garret. "you don't have to trade you can have some!" He downed his pixie stick then cleared his throat a little "Nyaaa I love these things!" he stated taking a deep breath though he got a bit of the pixie stick powder in his nose when he did. Turning away a bit as he sneezed. Thankful Garret by then would have already taken the candy. The lights in the buildings nearby turned out then came back on. Bou blushed a little then laughed "I got it up my nose !" he stated laughing hyperly. "Oh! Jeeze i've been sitting here all this time and still haven't told you my name! I'm Bou! " he stated with a cheesy grin.

With a wide grin, Garret took the sweets from Bou and put them on pavement in front of him. “Awesome, thanks. And the noise is welcome, I really need to get out of this blah mood.” Blue eyes shifted over the brightly colored before selecting a lollipop and tearing off the wrapper before putting it in his mouth. The sub could wait.
He wasn’t able to enjoy the sucker right away, as Bou’s sneeze caught him off guard. The laughter that came after it, more like. Garret was able to notice the lights flicker in the background before he doubled over in a short fit of chuckles. “You really aren’t the kind of person that should be snorting sugar,” Garret managed, referring to Bou’s already hyped-up demeanor. Maybe it was a result from all that candy. He hoped so, because Garret wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to see the kid after a sugar high. With a loud crack, he successfully bit into the sucker resting on his tongue.
“Hi Bou.” He could have rivaled the other’s cheesy grin, but the boy was not yet up to his normal mood. His eyes still stung from the light of day and from Bou’s hair because holy was it blinding. Settling for a regular grin, he introduced himself. “I’m Garret.”

Bou nodded "no problem!" he stated with a happy smile. After the bleeding on his scrape had stopped he'd put the tissue away to dispose of later. His cheeks reddened a little as he watched Garret plop the lollipop into his mouth. Bou's mind was so dirty. (xD) He shook his head a bit and swallowed hard trying to behave as he laughed hyperly.
Bou again laughed as Garret did. Laughter was contagious it seemed and Garret's amusement amused him. He blushed a faint bit as he shook his head "Oh i don't snort it usually! You caught me this time though!" he joked with a small fit of laughs. "Oh! because i'm so hyper right?? i'm always this way!" he added. "Well, 90 percent of the time!" he corrected. The crack from the lollipop made Bou shudder, he always hated that sound for some reason. Bou took the time to examine Garret as he unwrapped one of his own suckers and slipped it in his mouth.
he watched the other male then smiled snapping out of it a bit as he introduced himself "nice to meet you Garret! " he shouted with a smile rubbing his gloved hands against his pants a little to get the dirt off.

Garret picked his sub back up from the wrapper balanced on his knee, and took another bite. Ahh yes, mayonnaise and cheese plus cherry sucker. Great combination. He cringed before swallowing.
“You’ve always got this much energy?” Garret asked, chewing on the hard candy. He scrunched his nose in mild disbelief, or maybe a lack of wanting to believe. “How do you keep up with it all? I’ve barely been able to get out of bed these past few weeks ‘cause I’m so lazy.” His eyes fell on Bou’s gloves, and it struck him as a strange accessory, though, he’d seen Aki wear weirder. And these two seemed right up the same fashion alley. But then he remembered the flicker of the lights when Bou had sneezed, and took in account his amount of energy.
Garret was either good at picking up details or good at taking random things and drawing an equally random conclusion from them. He finished off the last bite of his sub, swiping his hands together to keep the crumbs from falling on his jeans. Pursing his lips in thought, the blonde looked to the other. “…Hey. Sneeze again.”

Bou gave a bit of a cute laugh licking and sucking against the sucker half closing his eyes as he thought to himself 'mm I love strawberry suckers!' he opened his eyes when Garret spoke to him and he gave him a friendly smile "uh huh! most of the time!" He stated with a laugh "it's not hard at all! I like candy!" he stated with a laugh "I run around so much that I have to have the sugar to keep me goin'!" he shouted happily smiling. "too lazy?" he asked with a smile "Well you made it all the way out here didn't cha???"
He noticed Garret's gaze to his gloves and he blushed with a soft laugh "Whatttt? You don't like my gloves?" he asked wiggling his fingers. "that's okay though I don't wear them for good looks!" he stated with a laugh. Bou laughed and watched as Garret ate then seemed thoughtful for some time. he sat continuing to lick and suck at his sucker though he looked to Garret laughing softly "I can't just sneeze on command!" he laughed hyperly though doing so he accidently inhaled his own saliva with that sucker in his mouth like that. He coughed covering his mouth, the lights around them flickering again.

((hey, at least it didn’t take five days to get back to this, this time x_x))
“I was forced to come out here, really,” Garret said, closing his eyes momentarily to blink back the last of his grogginess. “And I didn’t exactly make it all the way back, did I?” He grinned and crumpled up the wrapper. With a less-than-skilfull toss, it hit the side of the plastic bag on the pavement, and rolled off into the grass. The blonde didn’t make any effort to reach over and pick it up.
If Bou wasn’t so giggly, Garret might’ve thought he’d offended him with the look he gave his gloves. “Ahah, no, no. They’re just… different, and I dunno.” He shrugged, and began shuffling through his bag again for another sub. Yeah, he’d have to make up for all this pigging out in the gym. Gar frowned slightly when Bou denied his plea for another sneeze, and almost laughed when he realize how odd of a request it was.
The frown disappeared when the sneeze was instead replaced with a cough, providing the same effect Garret had wanted. Yup, light-flicker. Eyebrows raised, he pointed his head in the direction of the building that had flickered, and then smiled to Bou. “Right, I rock. You can make lights turn on and off with bodily functions,” the blonde said with a laugh, only half-serious.

Bou laughed cutely then "no i don't suppose you did!" he stated with a happy smile. Bou made a sound then half crawled over Garret grabbing the balled up wrapper that had missed the plastic bag. he smiled then and sat back putting it in the plastic bag then giving a cheesey grin.
"Oh! Don't worry I'm not offended or anything." he tilted his head a bit "Oh? Well, I wouldn't wear them at all , but it beats seeing the past of everything I touch" he stated with a cute laugh. "Even if i still get visions of where these gloves came from and such." he stated with a soft laugh. Then Bou 's cheeks turned red a bit, so that was why he'd asked him to sneeze, he laughed a little then and smiled "oh no, that's just a side effect I guess. " he stated with a smile as he held his hand out towards the building that garret had motioned to the lights went out with a surge of energy before a faint glow came to Bou's hand and he gave a slight shiver laughing a bit "I can also control electricity. Absorb it and emit it. " he stated with a soft shrug with a smile. He touched Garret's cheek with his gloved fingertip and a small tingle could be felt." see! " he stated with a smile "So now you know two of the three things that are special about me!" he stated with a cute smile.

“Haha, really? Like you see ‘em getting sewed together at the glove-making factory?” Garret said with a laugh, imagining being in the middle of doing some homework assignment when all of a sudden a conveyer belt of gloves clouding his vision. He bit off another piece of the second sub, eyes trailing Bou’s arm as the other boy reached towards the building. At the glow, his brows raised jealously. “Aw, what, two mutations?”
Unexpectedly, Bou lifted his finger and pressed it to Gar’s cheek. He twitched at both the gesture and the light surge of electricity that ran through it. A short crackle emitted from Bou’s finger, or so Garret imagined. With a laugh, he shook off the shock (lol, pun) with a little shudder of his head. In an amused tone, he said, “Whoa. If that doesn’t explain your energy, I don’t know what would.”
The dread-head grinned back, setting his sandwich down on its wrapper and clasping his hands at his ankles, which were folded under him. “Well, I’m already on a roll. What’s the third thing?”

He laughed softly then smiling "yes, I can see everything, from the when they where made back to where the threads that touch my hands come from. " he paused then smiling with another laugh as he sucked on his sucker. "mmhm. I have three actually." he stated as he sat there.
Bou laughed a bit again then as he smiled "uh huh. Some people get afraid of me because their scared i'll hurt them or something. Which isn't really true. I could if i wanted to but i don't like to hurt people." he stated with a smile.
Bou smiled then as he was asked about that third thing he mentioned before. Laughing softly and he moved closer to Garret giving him a grin, crawling over his folded legs and brushing himself but inches away from Garret's body. his hands on either side of his form. he smirked "I have the power to make anyone I kiss fall madly in love with me." he stated as his lips brushed closer to Garret's though he gave a cheesey grin and laughed "Just kidding" he stated with a hyper laugh kissing Garret's nose then sitting back against his own knees. Everything around them suddenly became quiet.
Bou bit down against the dulled sucker and the candy shattered in his mouth, but there was no sound to be heard from it or anything else for that matter. He laughed then allowing the sound to flood back "I can also control sounds. " he stated with a smile then winking to him holding up a finger as he swallowed the bits of candy "Which can come in handy in certain .. naughty.. situations." he stated with a laugh. "but that is my third power. Now you know them all" he stated with a smile "I showed you mine, now show me yours" he stated rather suggestively.
